The book was created to tell the story of Gilda's wonderful life, from her childhood to her birth in Heaven.
The story
Written by Father Bruno Ferrero with the collaboration of her parents Paola and Pasquale, it tells of Gilda's short but intense life, which she lived during the last two years of her illness with serenity and joy, accepting and coping with it in a way that made her happy with the reality (of the illness) she was living. Gilda wasn’t a zealot but a young friend of God. A young believer, who has left us the testimony of a faith that is not a matter for old ladies, but a faith that is joy, hope, strength, that is the desire of being with others, that is care and sweetness towards the other. She was not a wisecracker Gilda but a young friend of the Lord, a believing girl who left us the testimony of a faith that is not the stuff of old ladies, but the faith that is joy, that is hope, that is strength, that is willingness to be with others, that is care and gentleness toward each other.
In the preface, cardinal Giorgio Marengo, I.M.C., describes "Gilda as a ray of light sent as a gift to all of us ".
